Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

Have you recently finished a Psychology degree and want to use your understanding of behaviour and development in a real primary school?

Are you exploring careers in education, child psychology, or SEN and hoping to gain practical, meaningful experience?

Would you like a full-time role where you can support children’s progress and wellbeing while building your own professional skillset?

A welcoming primary school in Liverpool is working with KPI Education to appoint a committed Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to start ASAP and continue until the end of the academic year.

Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

- Full-time, long-term post starting ASAP
- Earn up to £530 per week in a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant role
- Consistent placement within one supportive Liverpool primary school
- Work with pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, focusing on both learning and emotional development
- Excellent experience for those considering Educational Psychology, SEN pathways, or teaching
- Applicants must hold a 2:1 or higher in Psychology (or a related subject)
- Any experience with children—schools, volunteering, youth work—is highly valued
- Provide tailored support for pupils with SEN, emotional or behavioural needs, or those requiring extra pastoral help
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to deliver targeted interventions

This caring primary school has a strong community feel and places equal importance on emotional wellbeing and academic progress. Staff work collaboratively to ensure every child feels supported, confident, and encouraged. The school is known for its inclusive culture, creative learning approaches, and commitment to ongoing improvement.

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll help pupils thrive both socially and academically. You may deliver one-to-one support for children with additional needs or lead small groups to build confidence, social skills, and resilience. This role offers valuable, real-world insight into how psychological approaches are applied in education, providing excellent preparation for further study or careers related to SEN, behaviour, or mental health.

The school is looking for a calm, compassionate, and proactive graduate with a genuine interest in supporting young learners. Strong communication, teamwork, and empathy are essential.

This is an ideal opportunity for graduates considering postgraduate Psychology routes, teacher training, or careers focused on child development and education.
