Due to company growth, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer with expertise in plumbing and heating systems to join our client, a reputable Facilities Maintenance company. You will be responsible for assisting in the operation, maintenance, and repair at one of their prestigious sites in Cardiff.
Job details:
* You will be part of a small maintenance team working 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule: 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off. The role involves carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs within a commercial building, including maintenance and repair of gas, plumbing, and mechanical systems, as well as general building fabric tasks.
* Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring all required documentation and reports are accurately completed.
* Supervise visiting subcontractors to ensure compliance with work standards and Health & Safety regulations, including issuing appropriate permits, overseeing minor works, and performing escort duties as necessary.
* Carry out all duties in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Qualifications / Experience:
* Minimum qualification - NVQ Level 3 / Apprentice Trained (Essential).
* Proven experience in Facilities Maintenance within commercial settings (Essential).
* Gas Safe Qualifications in COCN1, ICPN1, ICEA1, TPCP1, CIGA1, CORT1, CCN1 & CEN1 (Desirable).
* Proven experience in maintenance, testing, and fault finding across a range of equipment, including boiler plant, ventilation systems, waste water treatment plant, pumps, generators, switchgear, cabling, batteries, small power, and lighting (where applicable).
* Experience working in a Clean-room environment (Desirable).
