Position Summary
This is a 6‑month fixed‑term post (possibility of subsequent substantive post) in the Plastic Surgery Team covering hand, general plastic surgery and skin oncology across City Hospital (dermatology), Birmingham, Sandwell General Hospital and Midland Metropolitan Hospital, Smethwick.
Responsibilities
* Provide hand, general plastic, and skin oncology surgical care across the three sites.
* Assist with weekly Skin MDT participation and opportunities to participate in Hand MDT.
* Collaborate with existing Consultants for clinical service delivery, achieving national maximum waiting times and developing clinical pathways aligned with the 18‑week patient guarantee.
* Develop sub‑specialty surgery interests to complement existing consultant staff and support the Black Country Alliance service.
* No on‑call duties associated with this post.
Qualifications
* FRCS (or equivalent) and on the GMC Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery, or within six months of obtaining CCT at interview.
* Fully trained in hand, skin, and general plastic surgery.
* Skin or hand fellowship desirable but not essential.
