Job Description
A highly innovative global engineering organisation is seeking an interim Buyer.
This is a 3–6-month contract opportunity focused on operational procurement and materials management, ensuring continuity of supply and supporting production requirements within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.
The role will work closely with engineering, production and planning teams to ensure materials, components and supplier deliveries are aligned with manufacturing schedules.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day operational procurement activity across electronic components and manufacturing materials
* Coordinate closely with suppliers and Contract Electronic Manufacturers (CEMs) to ensure on-time delivery
* Support materials planning and inventory management to maintain production continuity
* Monitor supplier performance, lead times and delivery schedules
* Raise and manage purchase orders, expediting where required to prevent supply disruption.
* Work cross-functionally with production, engineering and planning teams to support operational requirements
* Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP systems
Candidate Profile
* Experience within operational procurement, supply chain or materials management
* Background within electronics, engineering or manufacturing environments highly desirable
* Strong understanding of MRP / ERP systems and supply chain processes
* Confident liaising with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve delivery and supply issues
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
