The successful candidate will be required to work full time (one academic year secondment September 2025 – mid-July 2026))
We are looking for a full-time Health Improvement Officer ideally with experience and expertise in the secondary phase, to cover the role of PSHE/RSHE specialist to provide training, support, guidance and advice to all schools whilst the substantive post holder is on maternity leave from September 2025.
What can we offer you?
You will get to work with, and co-ordinate support, advice, guidance and training for all PSHE leads and senior leaders from primary, high and special schools to:
– Identify pupils’ health and emotional wellbeing needs and plan ways to address them
– Support the implementation of the health-related behaviour survey across all schools and help them plan, deliver, and evaluate actions
– Develop and deliver PSHE, RSHE & Wellbeing packages of support that schools purchase to enhance their pupils’ health and emotional wellbeing
– Plan, deliver, and evaluate training and continuing professional development opportunities
– Work directly with children and young people and their parents on specific health areas such as healthy relationship, consent, peer on peer abuse and sexual health.
– Liaise with health organisations including school nursing and Ealing public health services to deliver health and emotional wellbeing improvement opportunities with schools.
We are looking for a collaborative, dynamic teacher or pastoral lead with a proven track record of driving educational and lifelong improvements for children. You will have strong knowledge and experience of child health and wellbeing priorities, safeguarding policies and practice, curriculum design and delivery, and skills to build trusting relationships with staff, pupils and their families. You will be committed to working with schools and health partners to tackle the impacts of health inequalities on children’s lives.
You must have the right to work in the UK. Evidence for the right to work in the UK will be requested at the interview stage.
