Overview
Senior Phase Tutoring Coordinator role at University of Glasgow. Location: Glasgow. Job type: Part-time (24.5 hours per week). Salary: Grade 6, £33,951 - £37,694 per annum pro rata. Closing date: 26 October 2025.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate the University WP Senior Phase Tutoring Programme (SPTP) with the Team Leader of the Widening Participation Summer Programmes and Community Engagement Team; develop and expand the programme to approximately 500 S4-S6 pupils across about 15 secondary schools in the West of Scotland.
* Act as a main point of contact between the University and school staff, Local Authorities and partner institutions; work with internal and external partners to support studies at National 5 Mathematics and Higher level in Mathematics, English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
* Collaborate with Programme leads and Head of WP to review, improve and develop the programme annually; supervise SPTP tutors and contribute to recruitment and training of tutors.
* Promote the tutoring programmes with Local Authorities and secondary schools; ensure relevance and benefit to stakeholders and participants.
* Ensure data collection, recording and maintenance of participating pupil data in collaboration with Data and Evaluation teams and school/LA contacts.
* Develop materials to support programme delivery and coordinate campus visits and online tutoring sessions; manage logistics and health and safety in coordination with University colleagues and external contacts.
* Monitor and manage programme expenditure within the annual budget; assist in preparing annual reports for external funders and University committees; conduct evaluation and dissemination of findings.
* Provide support and advice to students entering the University; communicate information about Schools and Summer Programmes relevant to participants.
* Manage own changing workload; directly support tutoring sessions and campus tours where required.
* Perform other duties as required to support the Head of WP, Summer Programmes and Community Engagement Team and the broader WP team.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
* A1 Demonstrated competencies or equivalent qualification/experience; Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 8 or equivalent and relevant progression in a similar role.
* A2 Understanding of learning skills required for Higher Education study.
* A3 Knowledge of the Scottish secondary school system.
* A4 Knowledge of HE admissions procedures and UCAS.
* A5 Enhanced Disclosure Scotland check.
Desirable
* B1 Knowledge of University of Glasgow WP provision.
* B2 Understanding of University policies on staff recruitment and employment.

Salary: Grade 6, £33,951 - £37,694 per annum pro rata. This post is part-time (24.5 hours per week) with funding until 30 August 2026 (initially).
