We are NHS Scotland's unique provider of a national tele‑health and tele‑care service, delivering health advice and information by telephone and online 24/7. NHS 24 is a patient‑focused service providing triage, advice, guidance, referral and information on health and healthcare services.
Location
Regional Centres are located at Hillington, Cardonald, Clydebank, South Queensferry, Dundee and Aberdeen. Senior Charge Nurse vacancies are available in our South Queensferry Contact Centre.
Role Overview
Provide clinical and professional leadership to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective implementation of performance management, mentorship, preceptorship and clinical governance processes. Assume delegated responsibility for managing the virtual NHS 24 service and monitoring the operational environment in the absence of a Clinical Services Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide clinical and professional leadership to the multidisciplinary team.
* Be accountable for implementing performance management, mentorship, preceptorship, and ensuring clinical governance processes align with NHS 24 policy.
* Support delivery against NHS 24 organisational performance indicators.
* Manage the virtual NHS 24 service and monitor the operational environment in the absence of a Clinical Services Manager (CSM).
* Ensure safe, effective, person‑centred care delivering the Leading Better Care (LBC) ambitions: safe clinical practice, enhanced patient experience, contribution to organisational objectives.
* Participate in recruitment of front‑line staff.
* Participate in research and development projects as appropriate.
* Analyse and interpret data to plan resources effectively.
Who We’re Looking For
* First‑level nursing qualification, appropriate part of NMC Register, educated to SCQF level 10 or equivalent experience.
* Extensive post‑registration experience, preferably within two health care settings; experience of unscheduled care is an advantage.
* Demonstrated expert clinical and professional practice, knowledge of NHS/Healthcare national and local standards.
* Ability to maintain professional credibility across all staff groups.
* Leadership, practice inspiration, continuous professional development to drive change and new ways of working.
* Personal motivation and enthusiasm for nursing development, patient care and enhancing the patient experience.
* Experience analyzing data to plan resources effectively.
Benefits
Band 7 salary £50,861 – £59,159* (pro‑rata for part‑time).
