THE FIRM
Thomson Cooper is an independent firm of Accountants and Business Advisors operating across Central Scotland with offices in Edinburgh and Dunfermline. In recent years our Audit portfolio has grown significantly and is now a large and diverse portfolio of commercial and third sector entities in various sectors.

THE ROLE
The position will suit an individual with at least 2-3 years’ experience working within audit, experience in supervising and leading small audit teams and who has a keen interest in that area.
You will work under the supervision of our audit managers but be responsible for managing your own portfolio of clients, therefore you must have the necessary skill set to develop and maintain relationships with both clients and colleagues.
* Leading audits (from planning through to completion) and supervision of junior members of the team
* Highlighting risk areas and areas of concern to the audit manager and utilising your professional judgement
* Maintaining client contact and delivering a proactive service
* Working between client premises and our offices
* Exposure to a wide and diverse client base including owner managed businesses and not-for-profit clients
* Working as part of a team
* Preparation of Statutory Accounts from client data
* Preparation of Corporation Tax Returns (experience preferable but not essential)
ABOUT YOU
* At least 2-3 years’ experience within audit
* Experience in supervising and leading small audit teams.
* Strong work ethic with commitment to deliver first class service
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* Excellent technical knowledge and IT skills
* Strong communication skills both oral and written
* Can demonstrate a track record of success working within teams

This is an exciting opportunity based in either our Dunfermline or Edinburgh offices. We will consider full-time or part-time working depending on the candidate’s experience.
