We have an exciting opportunity for a Non-Medical Prescriber to join our Primary Care team at HMP Stocken, a category C Men's Prison located in Stretton, Rutland. We are looking for a non-medical prescriber who ideally has experience within long-term conditions. You’ll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

The Primary Care Service is covered:
* Monday to Friday
* 37.5 hours per week over 4 days
* 7.30am - 5.30pm
This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary between £51,643- £58,012 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Non Medical Prescriber your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Undertake clinical nursing practice at an advanced level using expert knowledge and clinical skills to deliver care to patients
* Provide expert professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues and ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence
* Provide treatment as required, including prescribing medication, within your sphere of competence
* Carry out comprehensive assessments of patients looked after
* Provide advice/support in relation to crisis situations, conditions, and treatment plans, based on medical and treatment history
* Carry out a clinical review with the patient and update care plans accordingly

Qualifications required
* Registered professional with current active registration (NMC, GPHC, HCPC)
* BSc or equivalent qualification
* Non-medical prescribing qualification
* Understanding and knowledge of policy developments related to the delivery of primary care services including clinical governance and the Quality & Outcomes Framework
* Understanding of evidence-based practice
* Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
