Under supervision and according to Standard Operative Procedures, perform basic duties within the mortuary, supporting other staff within the team while providing optimum patient care.

* Responsible for inputting accurate and timely patient data into relevant Trust computerised systems.
* Responsible for the safe disposal of contaminated materials, including sharps and confidential waste.
* Undertake telephone and face-to-face enquiries, dealing in a professional manner.
* Prepare the bodies of deceased patients for viewing in accordance with trust policies and procedures.
* Prepare the bodies of deceased patients for release to undertakers in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
* Responsible for dispatching and posting samples to authorised persons and laboratories, ensuring compliance with all statutory regulations.
