POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive CNC Machinist to join our precision engineering team. This role involves setting, programming, and operating a variety of CNC milling machines, supporting high-quality production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Set, program, and operate 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines
Program directly from technical drawings (supporting all standard file formats)
Operate supplementary equipment including laser part marking and deburring machines
Set and pre-set tooling for efficient job changeovers
Perform tooling changes in line with company procedures
Input and run pre-qualified CNC programs
Carry out quality inspections on finished components
Manage material handling and distribution across work areas
Load/unload materials using a forklift truck (training available)
Maintain a clean and organised work environment
Provide regular updates to the management team
Adhere strictly to all Health & Safety regulations

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent time-served experience in CNC precision engineering
Proven experience operating 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines
Skilled in reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings
Experience with offline programming systems (e.g. OneCNC, AutoCAD, or similar)
Confident with computer systems used in modern engineering environments
Experience machining a variety of materials including steel, brass, bronze, aluminium, and plastics
NPD, prototyping, or R&D experience (desirable but not essential)
Forklift Truck Licence (Counterbalance) – training can be provided
Full UK driving licence (desirable)
