We are currently recruiting for a Network Engineer to join our team in the Thames Valley and Home Counties area.
This role will be field-based, requiring travel within the Thames Valley. The successful candidate will support our customers and protect the environment by overseeing contractors and ensuring safe and efficient work practices. Responsibilities include resolving defects on our sewer network.
This role offers a dynamic working environment with varied daily tasks. You will liaise with the Environment Agency, councils, and customers. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses strong interpersonal skills, and can make quick, accurate decisions on-site. You will be part of a supportive and trusting team.
Depending on your location, you may be based at several Sewage Treatment Works sites.
What you’ll be doing as The Field Network Engineer
1. Managing day-to-day operations of the waste network, including resolving sewer collapses, blockages, flooding, and pollution incidents.
2. Handling customer queries, complaints, and resolving issues proactively.
3. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards during repairs.
4. Providing risk assessments and sharing network risk information as a local expert.
5. Participating in meetings with customers, councils, and the Environment Agency to support their needs.
6. Providing on-site information to support wider operations.
7. Supervising contractors to ensure safety and adherence to policies and procedures.
Base Locations: Reading (STW) - RG2 0RP, Swindon - SN2 2DJ, or Banbury - OX16 4RZ, depending on your location.
Working Pattern: 38 hours Monday to Friday, plus on-standby rota with additional pay.

* Basic IT skills (preferable but not essential).
* Clean manual driving license.
* A strong commitment to customer service.
* Flexibility to respond effectively to field events.
