We are working with our client to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to join their dynamic and forward-thinking team on a part-time maternity cover basis. This role will commence with a handover period from August to mid-October, ahead of the maternity leave beginning in October 2025. The hours can be flexible but three days a week is preferred.\n \nThis is a Leeds office-based position, offering a rare opportunity to step into a pivotal finance leadership role within a purpose-driven and uniquely structured business.\n \nWhat You Should Know\nThis isn't your typical finance role - and our client isn't your typical company.
The business is founder-funded, with additional income generated via client invoices. As such, you'll be operating within a bespoke financial structure, including managing shareholder loans and overseeing annual share issuance.\n \nYou'll be a trusted partner to the MD and leadership team - offering insight, stability, and oversight during a critical period. You will work with the company accountants to ensure everything runs smoothly.\n \nKey Details\n\nStart Date: August 2025 (handover period: August - mid-October)\n\nDuration: Maternity cover\n\nSchedule: 3 days per week, option for one to be hybrid once trained\n\nLocation: Leeds (office-based)\n\nSalary: up to £50,000 pro rata\nReporting to:\n\nManaging Director for strategic finance responsibilities\n\nHead of HR for day-to-day requests\nKey Responsibilities\nPayroll & Pensions\n\nReview payroll data and liaise with accountants to finalise submissions\n\nManage HMRC and international payroll payments\n\nSupport bonus and salary review processes\n\nOversee pension processing and annual renewals\n\nRespond to employee pension queries (with People Team)\nBenefits\n\nManage P11D and PSA processes with accountants and HMRC\n\nOversee employee benefit renewals and enrolments\n\nEnsure correct benefit deductions and system updates\n\nWork with the Head of People to review benefit offerings\nBanking & Payments\n\nManage and approve payment flows and banking communications\n\nOversee supplier payments and invoice management\n\nCoordinate data analyst payments and internal bank transfers\nFunding\n\nProcess shareholder loan agreements and payments\n\nSupport share issuance and related accounting processes\n\nCollaborate with MD and finance teams on client invoice reporting\nAccounts & Returns\n\nOversee month-end reconciliations and VAT returns\n\nSupport year-end accounts and corporation tax review\nReporting & Forecasting\n\nMonthly cost reviews and forecasting updates with MD and Leads\n\nPrepare and review annual forecasts and end-of-year cost reports\nManagement & Collaboration\n\nManage and develop the Finance Assistant\n\nAttend cross-functional team meetings and business group sessions\n\nDrive collaboration across commercial, legal, HR, and finance stakeholders\n\nMaintain strong internal and external relationships\nHuntress Search Ltd acts as a Recruitment Agency in relation to all Permanent roles and as a Recruitment Business in relation to all Temporary roles.\n\nWe practice a diverse and inclusive recruitment process that ensures equal opportunity for all we work with, irrespective of race, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, age or gender.
