About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity to join a small but dedicated team working to conserve and protect the qualities of East Devon National Landscape (EDNL). The team develops and delivers projects supporting communities, nature, farming, climate, access, diversity, and inclusion. Our strategic themes are Nature, Climate, People, and Place. This role offers excellent growth and professional development opportunities.
You will review and respond to planning consultations within and near the National Landscape boundary, supporting objectives in the National Landscape Management Plan to conserve and enhance natural beauty. Additionally, you will act as a link between communities, developers, the Local Authority, and the National Landscape, providing pre-planning advice on sustainable development within or around the Protected Landscape.
About You
You should have a degree in town planning or equivalent experience, with practical experience in responding to development plans and planning applications. A strong knowledge of the planning system, policies related to protected landscapes, and an understanding of landscape character areas in East Devon are essential. Experience advising on felling consultations and woodland management plans is desirable.
A valid driving license is required for travel across the district (reasonable adjustments may be available).
