Overview
T his is a fantastic opportunity to join the Kent County Council, Country Parks team who provide leisure, educational, events, venue hire and café services across 9 Country Parks in Kent.
We seek a catering assistant for one of our key sites; Shorne Woods Country Park
You will be expected to hold a Level 2 Hygiene certificate.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in catering. The individual needs to be organised with strong customer service skills to ensure that visitors to the parks receive a quality café experience.
You will report to the Catering Services Manager who is responsible for the four Country Park café sites.
This post is for contracted hours every Sunday. Shifts will vary between 9am to 5.30pm on a scheduled basis, adjusting seasonally.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

Responsibilities
* Provide a quality café experience for visitors at Shorne Woods Country Park.
* Work at the site as a catering assistant on Sundays, with shifts scheduled and seasonal adjustments.
* Follow hygiene, safety and food handling procedures (Level 2 Hygiene certificate).
* Assist in daily café operations as required by the Catering Services Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
* Level 2 Hygiene certificate.
* Experience in catering.
* Strong customer service skills and organisational abilities.
* Ability to communicate effectively in English/Welsh as required for the role.
