As part of our commitment to developing the next generation of aerospace manufacturing, we are looking for a Degree Apprentice to join our Power and Control business in ourcutting-edgeoperations team at our HS Marston facility in the West Midlands.

What you will do:

During this 4-year Degree Apprenticeship you will work directly with production teams and modern automation technologies to transform our shop floor into a fully connected, data-driven environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the site and enterprise to deliver intelligent systems, increase visibility, and enable data-driven decision-making across our operations. From deploying robotics to integrating MES/ERP platforms with real-time data pipelines, your work will drive the next generation of aerospace manufacturing.

Supported by our experienced team you will:

1. Act as the digital technology specialist within project teams, supporting manufacturing engineers and technicians through the integration, adoption, andoptimisationof digital tools, data systems, and smart manufacturing technologies.

2. Involvement with daily technical/digital operation of Advanced Manufacturing equipment on the manufacturing floor.

3. Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental regulations, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

4. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to advanced manufacturing/Ops Technology processes, equipment, and tooling with a digital focus.

5. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to implement process improvements and support new product introductions. Support data-drivenoptimisation, automation opportunities, and digital workflow enhancements.

6. Support the inspection and maintenance of Advanced Manufacturing equipment using digital tools, such as predictive maintenance software, machine analytics dashboards, and diagnostic technologies.

7. Assistin the development and implementation of work instructions, standard operating procedures, and best practices.

8. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) using digital dashboards and analytics tools, providing insights into production efficiency, machineutilisation, quality trends, and safety performance.

9. Participate in cross-functional digital transformation initiatives, contributing to smart factory projects, automation pilots, data architecture improvements, and cost-reduction strategies enabled by technology.

10. Maintain (or support the introduction of)accuratedigital records and documentation and records related to advanced manufacturing processes, equipment maintenance, and quality control.

What you will learn:

During this comprehensive Level 6 Apprenticeship you will develop the key DT skills needed to transform our shop floor into a fully connected, data-driven environment. It is ideally suited to you if you are motivated,diligentand excited by a career in DT in a Manufacturing Engineering environment within the Aerospace sector. Alongside gaining hands-on experience and a broad understanding of our business operations, you will work towards a BSc Digital and Technology Solutions*delivered in partnership with Aston University which will form the basis of your future career and which we hope may lead to securing a permanent role with us!

*Learning will be delivered on campus at Aston University in block sessions.

Qualifications we prefer:

We expect that you will be just starting your career in DT/AME/Ops Technology so, alongside our training partner, we will delight in training and supporting you through your career journey to successfully complete your apprenticeship. That means you need to be a willing learner and committed to achieving both business and personal results with the potential to lead and motivate others/stakeholders. An experienced problem-solver with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have experience of reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics and work instructions and knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling. Knowledge in FDM Additive Manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies would beadvantageous.

You will have obtained 3 A Levels at grade C or above including a Mathematics based subject and a STEM subject, and a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including Mathematics,Englishand a STEM subject.
