We are looking for an experienced Therapy Assistant to join the Community Stroke and Neuro team at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby.
The team works with patients with neurological conditions, including post-stroke rehabilitation. The role involves working with patients at home or in community facilities, supporting occupational therapists and physiotherapists in ongoing interventions and managing your own caseload following triage. Interventions include functional activities, advice, education, equipment, balance, strength, cognition, and mood. Patient involvement in goal setting is essential, making this a diverse role.
If you lack the foundation degree but have relevant experience and the necessary Maths and English qualifications, we can support you as a trainee at Band 3, with the goal of achieving the foundation degree. (Band 3 Salary: £22,816 - £24,336 per annum pro rata)
Main duties of the job
The role focuses on assessing and supporting individuals to ensure safety and independence through assessments, rehabilitation activities, assistive equipment, advice, and information sharing.
Excellent communication skills are essential for collaborative patient care with the multidisciplinary team.
The candidate must hold a Foundation Degree in Professional Practice or an equivalent Level 5 qualification in a relevant field.
The purpose is to deliver high-quality therapy services under the supervision of registered Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.
