Use data to power smarter decisions and asset sight.
As an Asset Data Analyst, you’ll play a key role in supporting the business with data-driven insights to help shape, develop and implement the asset management life cycle policies and practices. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll contribute to the ongoing review and enhancement of asset key performance indicators (KPIs).
Using a range of analytical techniques and visualisation tools, you’ll translate complex data into clear, actionable insights—helping the business understand assets and the impact of operational decisions. You’ll also be responsible for developing robust, sustainable reporting solutions that enable dynamic analysis, are easily reproducible and deliver timely, high-quality insight to stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing
1. Be responsible for delivery of consistent asset KPIs, partnering with operational teams to support confident, data-driven decisions
2. Turn complex asset data into actionable insight, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to improve reliability
3. Complete and support regulatory data requests, ensuring robust data gathering, validation and cleansing across teams
4. Contribute to the development and automation of asset models (condition, criticality and value) that underpin business planning
5. Champion high-quality, accessible data by working cross-functionally to improve data capture, governance and usability
6. Deliver clear, engaging reports and dashboards that bring data to life and support business performance
7. Support flooding assurance validation during high-volume periods, ensuring accuracy and resilience when it matters most
What we’re looking for a candidate with:
We’re seeking a candidate who brings a strong mix of technical expertise, analytical thinking and a passion for data-driven decision-making:
8. Educated to A-level, HNC or equivalent in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or relevant experience in a similar role
9. Experience working with data management systems, processes and structured data, including relational databases
10. Strong understanding of data hierarchies and how data is transformed into meaningful insight
11. Experience working with asset data, ideally within utilities or a comparable operational environment
12. Good understanding of data quality principles and the importance of robust, reliable data
13. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Databricks) and languages such as SQL, Python or R
14. Experience using data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI or Tableau) to communicate insights effectively
15. Experience with FME and GIS is desirable
16. Familiarity with SAP systems (e.g. SAP ALM or S/4HANA) would be advantageous
