About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Stafford, a category C Prison located in West Midlands. HMP Stafford is a male prison with a capacity of 753, 45% of the population over 50 years old. Working as a Pharmacy Technician, you will be based within the healthcare department and may have some wing‑based work.
Hours
* Monday – Sunday service
* 37.5 hours per week over 4 days
* 7:45 am – 5:30 pm
* One weekend, three half days, and bank holiday shift as they fall within the rota
* 6‑week rolling rota
Salary
This position is a full‑time contract. Annual salary between £29,264–£33,510 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Responsibilities
* Provide outstanding quality, patient‑centred care, seeking, listening to and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Ensure safe and secure medicines management, keeping patient medical records up to standard and following SOPs.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care within professional standards: administering medicines timely, analysing cost‑effective prescribing as defined in our Health in Justice medicines policy.
* Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or above, BTEC or equivalent
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up‑to‑date with continuing professional development (CPD)
* Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work unsupervised while following policy and procedures
* Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (ideal but not essential)
