Overview
Female Support Worker - Part-time permanent and Part-time Maternity cover available. Location: Billericay area. Salary: £17.50 per hour for day rate; £18.40 per hour waking night rate. National Living wage per sleeping night hours. Working on a rolling rota including a variety of days, waking nights and sleeping nights. No prior experience necessary; training provided. Energy, enthusiasm, and a sense of fun are a must. The organisation provides regular 1:1 clinical supervision and 24/7 emergency on-call support, with experienced payroll and HR teams for support with employment and pay queries.
The role involves providing 2:1 care and support to a profoundly disabled woman with a brain injury in her own home in Billericay, with the aim of enhancing quality of life and helping the client participate in daily activities and social life.
Responsibilities
* Provide 2:1 care in a home setting, including daytime, waking night, and sleeping night shifts as required.
* Assist with all aspects of daily living and support the client to engage in community activities (cinema, pub visits, garden centre, events).
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team under guidance of therapists and Case Manager.
* Support the client to reach specific goals set by the therapy team and oriented to the client’s preferences and quality of life.
* Participate in a comprehensive induction and ongoing training programme; engage in CPD and career development opportunities.
* Maintain clear communication with the client, family, and the broader care team; manage documentation and care plans as required.

* Good communication skills; ability to work effectively as part of a team and to communicate on behalf of a client with limited communication ability.
* Enthusiasm to support client participation in social and leisure activities in diverse settings.
* DBS clearance at enhanced level (employer-paid if needed).
The role
2:1 care involves two staff during the day and one waking and one sleeping staff at night.
