Overview Location: Fourways- Whitchurch, Shropshire (MATERNITY COVER) Salary: £30,000 Hours: 40; Monday- Friday 09:00- 17:30 Fourways Whitchurch are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their small, friendly, and fast-paced team based in Shropshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide accounting support to the Assistant Financial Controller by maintaining the purchase ledger and bank accounts on sage within Fourways, which is part of Lookers PLC. Here at Fourways, you will work closely with the Assistant Financial Controller on all aspects of the accounts, while receiving on-going support to ensure you have the tools needed to succeed in your role. Responsibilities This is a broad role covering Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Bank as well as various month end tasks. Tasks include but not limited to: Posting invoices, supplier payments, customer receipts, non-supplier/customer transactions and employee expense claims onto sage Prepare monthly payment run for review ensuring all supplier payments are kept up to date and reconcile month end balances to supplier statements Assist with credit control as required Run and distribute bank statements, check daily bank payments and upload payments to the Bank and EchoSign to be authorised as required Complete Daybooks reconciliations between Foursky and Sage, agree group purchase ledger balances at year end and half year end to meet reporting deadlines, and gather information for submission to the external auditors Other Adhoc tasks as required by the Assistant Financial Controller About us: Lookers are proud to be one of the top three motor vehicle retailers in the UK, representing 32 vehicle manufacturers, selling and servicing a huge range of cars at over 150 franchised dealerships across hundreds of locations throughout the UK & Ireland.
