Job Description The Foster Carer Review Chair is a peripatetic role requiring the postholder to chair annual reviews of Foster Carers as and when required. These reviews take place within the Foster Carer's home, ensuring a thorough and supportive assessment process. The role demands expertise in children’s social work, experience in chairing and recording meetings, and the ability to travel across a large geographical area. There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: - Chair Foster Carer Annual Reviews within their homes, providing comprehensive assessments. - Ensure compliance with fostering regulations and agency policies during reviews. - Minute meetings accurately and maintain detailed records of reviews. - Collaborate with foster carers to highlight areas of strength and identify development opportunities. - Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, ensuring their perspectives are considered. Qualifications and Skills: - Background in children’s social work, with relevant qualifications. - Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). - Experience in chairing and minuting meetings; fostering experience is desirable. - Ability to travel extensively, including areas outside Aberdeenshire, using own vehicle. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and fostering regulations. - Commitment to confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
