Head of Finance and Administration

* Salary: £55,000
Reed Finance Norwich are delighted to have been retained exclusively to support a local charity organisation to recruit for a Head of Finance and Administration to join their team. This pivotal role reports directly to the Director of Finance, IT and Administration and is essential for providing the management information required for strategic decision-making. The successful candidate will act as a finance business partner, maintaining regular contact with budget holders across all areas of the Charity and working closely with key internal and external stakeholders.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Ensure robust financial controls across the Charity’s operations, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting of income and expenditure.
* Maintain and update Charity policies related to financial matters, providing staff training as required.
* Manage the balance sheet, sales and purchase ledgers, and fixed asset register, ensuring accuracy and regular reviews.
* Liaise with auditors to prepare annual statutory accounts and manage the monthly payroll and annual returns, ensuring compliance with legislation.
* Prepare quarterly VAT returns and manage the Charity’s cash flow, including forecasting of legacy receipts.
* Provide finance business partnering to all budget holders, delivering timely and accurate financial reports and supporting cost activities for grant applications.
* Lead the preparation of the Charity’s annual budget and mid-year reforecasts as part of the business planning process.
* Produce monthly management accounts and quarterly top-line financial information, providing analysis for budget holders and Trustees.
* Manage the Finance and Administration team, ensuring effective implementation of policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience in charity finance at a similar level within a similar organisation.
* In-depth understanding of charity VAT and experience running an in-house payroll process.
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
* High level of IT skills, particularly in data manipulation and Excel.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of producing financial reports for a variety of audiences.
* Proven ability to manage a team effectively, with a supportive and results-driven approach.
