Job title: 7.5 Tonne Collections and Delivery Driver

Contract: Permanent / 40 hours per week
Salary: £16.05 per hour, overtime paid at enhanced rates
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday
Hours of work: 10:00 to 18:45
Responsibilities
* Serve as the first point of contact for customers, providing excellent service during parcel collection and delivery
* Ensure timely and accurate collection and delivery of parcels according to scheduled routes
* Assist with loading and unloading parcels at the depot and customer locations
* Manage a daily schedule of approximately 50-60 stops in the designated area
* Use provided equipment (e.g., sack barrow/hand truck) to safely handle heavier items
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and any issues during shifts
* Adhere to road safety regulations and company policies while operating the 7.5 tonne vehicle
* Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues promptly
* Use handheld devices and company software to update delivery statuses and communicate with the depot
* Resolve customer queries professionally and efficiently
* Adapt to changing weather conditions and adjust delivery approach accordingly
* Collaborate with depot staff and other drivers for smooth operations and workload distribution
* Maintain a clean and presentable appearance as a representative of DPD
Qualifications
* A valid 7.5T (C1) licence, DQC (Driver Qualification Card) and CPC accreditation
* Clean driving record with no more than 3 penalty points
* At least 1 year of experience driving 7.5 tonne vehicles or similar
* Demonstrate value of great customer service; able to work to deadlines and be flexible
* Friendly, approachable, positive, resourceful and professional
* Ability to multi-task and problem solve; physically able to lift and carry up to 25kg
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Good knowledge of local road networks and traffic patterns
* Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in challenging situations
* Comfortable using handheld devices and basic computer software
