About the role
The Thales Voyager Academy delivers initial and recurrent training to civilian and military personnel. Course modules run continuously throughout the year, this role will be full-time.
The role requires the successful applicant to, primarily; deliver Part 66 engineering modules to RAF and Civilian engineers in the classroom and, where designated, in a Synthetic Training device. It will also include the production and update of courseware and training records, invigilation of exams and other duties as required by the Training Service Manager (TSM). You will be reporting to the Technical and Operations Training Manager (TOTM).
Skills and experience
The training material covers a broad range of mechanical and avionic subjects related to UKCAA Part 66/B1 and B2 engineering licences. The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
Essential
1. Avionics/B2 background
2. Recognised Teaching/Instructor qualification
3. Previous experience as an instructor
4. Previous experience in Course Design
5. Knowledge of UKCAA Part 66 module content.
6. Knowledge of UKCAA Part 66 licencing requirements
7. Desire to expand operational knowledge and to integrate within a small cohesive team
Desirable
8. Previous military service
9. Knowledge of Airbus methodology and procedures
10. Knowledge of the A330 systems and operations
The Part 66 course is divided into a number of modules; between classroom delivery of these modules, students will be programmed for leave and/or hangar placements throughout the duration of the course. There will be opportunities to become involved in other training courses within the academy when time permits. The successful candidate must be able to live and work in the UK and be cable of achieving a UK Security Clearance.
