Job Description Non-Contentious Construction Legal Director Location : Manchester Salary : £80,000 to £110,000 plus bonus Experience : 8 years’ PQE If you’re a senior non-contentious construction lawyer looking for a leadership role with high-quality projects work, this is a strong opportunity to join a busy, well-regarded construction team in Manchester. You’ll take a leading role in transactional delivery, client relationship development and team growth, with clear scope to contribute to wider practice development. The Opportunity This role suits someone who enjoys running complex matters, building trusted client relationships and supporting the development of junior lawyers. Lead on complex, high-value non-contentious construction matters Draft and negotiate a broad range of construction and engineering contracts, including JCT, NEC and bespoke agreements Advise on procurement strategies (including facilities management) Support clients with dispute avoidance and risk management mechanisms Act as first-line support to partners on key client matters Build and develop senior client relationships and contribute to business development Supervise, mentor and develop junior lawyers Collaborate with colleagues across real estate, banking, corporate and projects on multi-disciplinary instructions Contribute to precedents, process improvement and innovative ways of working About You Essential Qualified solicitor in England and Wales 8 years’ PQE with strong technical capability in non-contentious construction Proven experience advising on UK construction or engineering projects Strong drafting and negotiation skills across construction documentation (including JCT and NEC) Commercial, pragmatic approach with strong attention to detail Confident client relationship management skills at senior level Leadership experience, including supervision and mentoring Business development capability and an interest in practice growth Desirable Experience across a range of sectors (for example, energy, transport, life sciences, industrials or large-scale developments) Experience advising on facilities management procurement Experience contributing to thought leadership and profile-raising Experience in a large, multi-office practice environment What’s On Offer Salary of £80,000 to £110,000 plus bonus High-quality non-contentious construction work with strong client exposure Leadership role with scope to shape team development and practice growth Clear progression pathway Supportive, collaborative culture with a focus on development Access to legal technology and process improvement tools About Our Client Our client is a large, full-service law firm with a strong construction capability and a collaborative, people-focused culture.
