Overview
Civil Engineer – Stoke-on-Trent. Office-based with flexible hours. £30,000 – £34,000 (DOE). Full-time | 37.5 hours/week | Permanent role.
I'm currently working with a growing, forward-thinking Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy based in Stoke-on-Trent, who are looking to bring in a capable and ambitious Civil Engineer – ideally someone with 2+ years’ experience. This is a brilliant opportunity to take ownership of projects and play a key role in the development of a civils team within a company that values innovation, collaboration, and autonomy.
The Role
As the Civil Engineer, you’ll be working across a variety of infrastructure and development schemes – taking projects from planning through to construction. This includes:
* Designing drainage networks to S104 standards and liaising with local water authorities
* Preparing SUDS strategies and Flood Risk Assessments
* Designing residential roads to S38 and S278 standards
* Modelling drainage systems using MicroDrainage or similar
* Overseeing production and QA of technical drawings and engineering documentation
* Liaising with planners, clients, and local authorities
* Mentoring junior team members (if senior level)

What They're Looking For
* HNC, BEng or similar in Civil Engineering
* Strong technical understanding of UK drainage and highways design standards
* Proficiency in MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
* Previous consultancy experience (ideally in residential or commercial developments)
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Good communicator and confident engaging with clients and authorities
