The Vacancy
Location: Salisbury, Weymouth & Blandford
Hours of Work: 40 hours/week, typically Monday – Friday (Flexibility required 24/7). You will be part of a call-out team to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Salary: £39,093.85 per annum
Job Purpose
This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations. You will be the first point of contact for all maintenance issues within your allocated sites, and may need to request specialist attendance following initial call-outs.
The role involves technical repairs and PPMs, ensuring all technical and compliance paperwork is completed and up to date. All work must meet high standards efficiently and cost-effectively, complying with Health and Safety legislation.
Key Accountabilities
* Complete the PPM schedule within agreed timescales and ensure all paperwork is accurate.
* Respond promptly to service requests, assess requirements, and carry out repairs.
* Prioritize maintenance and repairs to meet response times.
* Deliver reactive and planned fire alarm system maintenance.
* Conduct emergency lighting tests and repairs.
* Follow purchase order processes.
* Identify non-repairable faults and advise the Line Manager with recommendations.
* Ensure compliance documentation is maintained.
* Inform site managers of issues affecting site operations.
* Carry out surveys and reports as required.
* Perform minor alterations and installations within technical competence.
* Complete general repairs and maintenance as designated.
* Attend training to keep skills current.
* Adhere to Health and Safety policies.
* Represent the company professionally and build good relationships with colleagues and customers.
* Participate in a 24/7 call-out rota.
* Maintain quality standards and follow instructions from management.
People Responsibility
Currently responsible for supervising AMT on technical works and PPM, building good relationships with colleagues and customers, with no direct reports.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* GCSE/Standard Grade minimum; ideally NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds 236 Part 1+2 in electrical installation/maintenance.
* City and Guilds 2382 17th or 18th edition.
* Knowledge of 3-phase electrics and applications.
* Ability to maintain and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
* Focus on quality, speed, and efficiency.
* Respond to service calls within agreed times.
* Achieve PPM schedules.
* Maintain Health and Safety standards.
* Build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
