Locations: Coventry head office, Birmingham campus, Leeds campus, Manchester campus, Nottingham, London area (Tower Hill, Holborn & Ealing). The role requires 3‑4 days campus attendance each week. Hybrid working arrangement.
About the Opportunity
We are looking for a team of Lecturers to support the delivery of STEM Foundation Year. Responsibilities include delivering 16 hours of teaching (4 groups), academic support, office hours, tutorials, and covering rota in campus.
Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and dynamic lectures both face‑to‑face and online for blended and distance learning students.
* Take on module leadership, ensuring consistent quality and development of learning materials and schemes of work.
* Oversee assessment marking, create authentic assessments, and provide high‑quality feedback.
* Lead or support the creation of new programmes and refresh existing ones to align with industry trends and employer requirements.
* Collaborate with colleagues to provide academic advice and support to students.
* Drive innovation in teaching methods, student support, and assessment.
* Assist with student orientation weeks (online and face‑to‑face).
* Support students with assessments including 1‑1s, group tutorials, and scaffolded assessment feedback sessions.
* Assist students through reminders and tracking risk of non‑submission via phone calls, online tutorials and assessment tutorials.
* Work closely to develop assessment and resit clinics.
* Develop/create interactive videos, podcasts and activities for VLE and in‑class activities.
University‑wide Initiatives
Support the delivery of the Pass First Time programme to STEM Foundation Year.
About You
Experience teaching Computing and academic skills. Positive, empathetic, and able to engage students for positive outcomes.
Key Qualifications
* Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject.
* Recognised HE Teaching Qualification and /or Advance HE Fellowship at FHEA/SFHEA level or commitment to gain within 12 months.
* Evidence of CPD to enhance teaching capability and methods.
* Proven experience in programming (Python, Java), database, operating systems, networking, digital business, IT project management, cloud computing, HCI, cybersecurity, etc.
* Lecturers to start as soon as possible; programme launches May 2025.
