Responsibilities
* Providing expert input to the National Framework for Water Resources
* Shaping and scrutinising Water companies' statutory Water Resource Management Plans
* Managing programmes to deliver sustainable abstraction
* Drought planning and drought management
* Developing talent and skills in water planning
* National modelling for water resources and groundwater
Leadership and Team Development
* Lead a department of over 70 technical experts in Operations Catchment Services
* Champion health, safety, and wellbeing; foster inclusion; actively support growth and development of people
* Lead operational delivery of services, ensuring resources are used effectively and priorities are met
* Take a wider leadership role as part of the Operations Catchment Services Leadership Team
* Demonstrate a passion for developing individuals and teams, creating an open, inclusive, trusting culture
* Have excellent stakeholder management skills with a strong customer focus and well-honed influencing skills
* Think strategically, spotting links and connections to identify opportunities while simplifying to focus on the most important deliverables
* Understand the environmental, political, and economic pressures affecting the water sector and wider environment
Experience/Skills Required
* Authentic leader with a strong team focus, believing great leadership is fundamental to protecting people and the environment
* Passion for developing individuals and teams, creating an inclusive, trusting culture
* Excellent stakeholder management skills with strong customer focus and influencing skills

* Working knowledge of water resources management and understanding of pressures affecting the sector
