Join to apply for the Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistant role at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated OT Assistant to contribute to the delivery of a new discharge pathway pilot, working with a team of professionals to develop a community forensic step-down accommodation for women being discharged from secure care. The pilot extends the inpatient SCALE model into a community residential setting to promote recovery beyond discharge and reduce future admission. The project has funding for a 2-year period.
Responsibilities
* Co-facilitate planned therapy programmes focusing on developing independent living skills, community integration, forming relationships, and purposeful occupation within the SCALE model; contribute to intensive rehabilitation to develop life skills in the community.
* Ensure effective communication pathways exist and act as a role model that reflects the values of the organisation.
* Work across Ardenleigh and Dawn House to strengthen relationships and ensure effective discharge pathways.
* Collaborate with external partners in planning interventions and assessments, and with ANAWIM staff and the FIRST and inpatient OT team.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and appropriate data.
* Promote OT services and support visitors and service users to understand their treatment.
* Contribute to assessments through observation, communication, and accurate record keeping.
