About the Role
The Mechanical Engineer will take ownership of engineering design documentation, revision control, and product introduction processes. You'll work closely with customers, internal teams, and cross‑disciplinary engineering partners to ensure designs are accurate, traceable, and ready for seamless transition into production.

Key Responsibilities
Design & Documentation
Produce schematics, valve schedules, and manufacturing documentation.
Review and submit client submittals and drawings, ensuring BOM accuracy.
Prepare specifications, reports, and project documentation aligned with cost, schedule, and quality targets.
Manage engineering drawing revision control and maintain accurate technical files.
Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders to update drawings, block diagrams, and schematics.
Incorporate pipe stress analysis outputs into design documentation.
Maintain full traceability of design changes within BOM and routing systems.
Oversee engineering change control processes.
Develop and implement structured methodologies for New Product Introduction (NPI).
Participate in DFMA workshops to support value engineering (VA/VE) and product standardization.Production & Process Support
Provide proactive technical support to production teams to ensure smooth build execution.
Troubleshoot issues collaboratively and develop robust, timely solutions.
Manage the Non‑Conformance Report (NCR) process and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Maintain accurate documentation of all process modifications and improvements.What You Bring
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Strong background in manufacturing or process engineering, ideally within process plant, HVAC, capital equipment, or large infrastructure projects.
Experience with PLM, PDM, or ERP systems; understanding of BOM structures is beneficial.
Knowledge of structured problem‑solving methods such as 8D.
Proficiency in managing BOM and routing systems.Technical Skills
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, fabrication, welding, and modular build environments.
Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement in low‑volume, high‑value environments.
Ability to define and implement manufacturing and quality standards, SOPs, and visual work instructions.
Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001).Personal Attributes

This is an on-site opportunity at our clients premises in Droitwich with an expected 40 hours work per week. Initial expectation is that this role should last around 6 months or so.
Pay:
£32.50 per hour (PAYE) or £45.00 per hour (Umbrella)
