We're looking for a confident, compassionate, dynamic, fun and creative Personal Support Assistant to support a 14-year-old boy in the West Malling area who is neurodivergent, with a profile including PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), Autism, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a bright, energetic, engaging and articulate young person who has a big personality, wide-ranging interests and can thrive with the right kind of support and understanding. About the Role: This role focuses on a high degree of fun - enabling social engagement, supporting emotional regulation, and encouraging participation in a range of community and interest-based activities, including: * Visiting museums and exhibitions * Exploring nature, animals and the outside world. * Engaging in sports and physical activities * Navigating social situations and helping build confidence in social environments To achieve all of the above the candidate will need to build a high level of trust and a feeling of safety. You'll play a vital part in helping this young person feel safe, understood, and respected – particularly when navigating situations where emotional expression may differ from typical expectations. It will be essential to navigate and nurture this relationship in a non-emotive and confident manner, in order to avoid triggering a shame response. You'll also be in regular contact with the family, so clear, respectful communication is key. About You We're looking for someone who: * Has solid experience supporting young people with Autism, ADHD, and ideally PDA * Understands the importance of emotional safety and co-regulation * Can think creatively and flexibly to adapt to needs in the moment * Has a bubbly, fun and confident personality yet has a warm grounded, calm energy and can remain regulated during moments of stress * Is proactive and encouraging, without being directive or controlling * Is open to building genuine rapport and mutual respect over time You'll also need to: * Have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance * Be able to work in and around the Kings Hill / West Malling area * Be willing to be part of a small supportive team, sharing relevant updates and developments as needed Nice to Have: * Experience supporting young people with high anxiety, trauma and demand avoidance * Training in low arousal approaches, co-regulation, or trauma-informed practice Hours are: * 6 hours per week term time * 10 hours per week non term time Competitive hourly rate: * £25 per hour for employed PA (holiday pay included) * £40 per hour for self employed PA If you'd like to apply or find out more, please get in touch with a short introduction about yourself, your experience, and why you think you'd be a good fit for this role.
