Senior Clinical Support Worker – University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust
University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role; however, UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa. You must also have at least six months until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.
Eligibility Requirements
* GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English.
* A Full Care Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (NVQs must be from a regulated awarding body).
Applicants who do not present the above qualifications to the interview will not be considered further.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for providing fundamental elements of patient care as directed by the qualified nursing/midwifery team, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of dignified and respectful care in accordance with their care plans. You must also be compassionate and feel passionately about providing care similar to what you would wish for family and friends.
Successful applicants will be based at Royal Stoke University Hospital. As care provision is a 24‑hour, 7‑day a week career, you will need to work shifts, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.

* Taking clinical observations and recording vitals on paper
* Use of vital pac
* Glucose Monitoring
* Pregnancy Testing
* Urine Analysis (Strip)
* Taking Fecal Samples
* 12‑lead ECG
* Observing patients for signs of agitation or distress (clinical holding / restraint)
* Wound observation
* Simple wound dressing
* Removal of peripheral cannula
* Swab collection (e.g., MRSA)
* Support and assist new staff – buddy system / care certificate supervisor
