Whats the role all about?
As Spatial Planning Manager, youll lead and manage the Spatial Planning team responsible for preparing development plans, evidence base documents, and planning policy for the Local Plan. Youll play a key role in delivering a first-class planning service that supports sustainable development and growth across the borough. This includes coordinating statutory planning documents, engaging with stakeholders, and contributing to regeneration and investment initiatives.
What will your day look like?
Youll be at the heart of shaping the future of North East Lincolnshireleading the development of planning policies, guiding consultation and engagement activities, and working closely with senior officers and elected members on the Local Plan. Youll prepare evidence for public examinations and inquiries, collaborate across teams to drive regeneration and economic growth, and negotiate with developers to secure major investment. Your analytical skills will shine as you interpret data and produce key statutory reports, while your strategic insight will help shape responses to public consultations across a wide range of environmental and socio-economic issues.
Who are we looking for?
Were looking for a dynamic and experienced planning professional who brings a wealth of expertise in town planning and policy development. Youll be confident in leading teams and managing stakeholder relationships, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to juggle complex workloads Youll hold a degree in town and country planning and ideally be a Chartered Member of the RTPIor working towards it. Your deep understanding of planning legislation, development processes, and data analysis will be key, alongside excellent communication, analytical, and ICT skills that help you thrive in a fast-paced, strategic environment.
