Job Description:
Location: St Austell, Cornwall
Contract: Approx. 6 weeks, full-time (35 hours per week, Monday–Friday)
Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour
We are seeking anexperienced Accounts Payable Assistant to support a busy finance team on a short-term basis.
The role requires strong attention to detail, proven accounts experience, and the ability to manage a variety of tasks efficiently. This is an immediate start for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions via daily banking routines.
2. Reconcile cash, ensuring all transactions are accurate and up to date.
3. Investigate and resolve supplier account queries or irregularities.
4. Carry out aged creditor reviews, highlighting and correcting anomalies.
5. Perform 3-way match checks on purchase orders and reconcile supplier statements.
6. Prepare and process supplier payment runs in a timely, efficient manner.
7. Support financial controls, including VAT accuracy and CIS indirect tax returns.
8. Review and process employee expenses, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
9. Identify process improvements to enhance accounts payable efficiency.
Requirements:
10. Previous accounts payable or finance experience (essential).
11. Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
12. Experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders professionally.
13. Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
