Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Tutor to support a 16-year-old refugee in the SP4 area of Salisbury. This young person is at the beginning of their educational journey and is looking for a tutor who can provide a safe, encouraging, and empowering learning environment.
About the Learner:
* Aged 16 and recently arrived in the UK as a refugee.
* Non-verbal and communicates through alternative methods.
* Eager to develop communication skills and independence in practical, everyday tasks.
* Requires a tutor who can build trust and foster confidence through consistent, compassionate support.
As a Tutor, you will:
* Support the development of communication strategies (e.g., visual aids).
* Encourage independence through practical life skills and structured activities.
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
* Record student progress and report on this weekly.
* Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
* Record attendance.
* Be organised, dependable and creative.

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
* Hold right to work in the UK
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
* Provide references upon request
* Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
