JOB RESPONSIBILITIES PERSONAL LINES HANDLER
JOB PURPOSE
INPUT To renew and retain held business. To increase the wealth of the department by introducing new clients
OUTPUT To contribute to the growth of the Personal Lines Team
Duties and Responsibilities
General Conduct
1 To act with due skill, care & diligence at all times.
2 To observe high standards of integrity and deal openly and fairly with clients at all times.
3 To conduct all business in line with the company's Practices, Policies and Standards Manual, Staff Handbook, procedures and FCA regulations.
4 To ensure a safe working environment in line with the company's Health and Safety rules.
5 To keep confidential all client and company information gained as a result of your position and use This information only as laid down by the company.
6 To attend training sessions.
7 To use company standard documentation and not to alter these documents without written consent.
8 To support colleagues.
9 Maintain high standards of personal presentation.
10 To refer any matters or issues outside of your normal responsibilities and knowledge to a senior member of staff
11 To adopt the “in the event of absence” policy when required.
12 To act and adopt a professional manner at all times.
New Business and Renewals - Personal Lines Insurances
1 Have the ability to renew existing policies.
2 Be able to invite renewals and gather information from clients.
3 Have the ability to contact prospective new clients and win their business.
3a To understand the nature of client's businesses, minimum regulatory standards, and requirements in respect of wording, excess, limit of indemnity and wherever possible exceed them.
4 Have the ability to build and maintain on going relationships with clients.
5 Negotiate with underwriters/insurers to gain the best possible terms for the client.
6 Refer any business that is being moved away from the holding market/panel to a renewals team member and a Senior Broker if new business for sign off before moving.
7 Have the ability to build and maintain relationships with underwriters and insurers.
8 Be able to produce documentation for Insurers/Underwriters at all stages of negotiations.
9 Be able to complete administrative tasks and data entry to the company's systems.
10 Have the ability to check and verify policies, quotes and documentation received or produced internally.
11 Be able to understand the requirements of performance and targets required individually and by department and meet those requirements.
12 Keeping up with changes in the markets that we provide cover for our clients.
13 To deal with general queries and mid-term adjustments on behalf of clients.
14 To perform all Broker ad hoc or necessary duties as they arise.
