ECD Poultry Ltd are a family run business who are looking for a passionate poultry stockperson to assist on a poultry broiler farm in the THrockmorton, Pershore, Worcestershire area. YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK BEFORE APPLYING FOR THIS POSITION Responsible to the Farm Manager for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the poultry farm to attain quality broiler chickens and you will also be part of the team that ensures the workplace safety of all employees and visitors to the farm, adhering to company Health and Safety Policies and requirements. You may be required to provide assistance at other farms, so having your own transport is essential. The role is demanding and physical with the right candidate having a positive attitude towards the work. It is important that the right candidate wants to learn and sees this as a possible stepping stone to becoming an Assistant Farm Manager, after learning the relevant processes and procedures. Your Role and Responsibilities Bird Welfare Supporting the farm team in the day to day running of the farm to produce chicken to the highest possible welfare and production standards. Ensure strict biosecurity measures are maintained. Follow instructions and guidance given by the Farm Manager or Assistant. Assist in the daily routines on the farm in respect of feeding, water management, litter management and ventilation. Keeping the farm tidy Maintain safe working practices. Ensure PPE is worn when appropriate. Requirements No prior experience is necessary as training will be given through on-the-job training as well as through our company and industry training programmes. A keen interest in poultry farming where animal welfare is of the utmost importance. The ability to be a team player and have a flexible approach since the hours required varies throughout the flock. Willingness to undertake other duties required to fulfil the needs of the position. ? Hours : The role is based around 44 hours per week, including weekend work so the right candidate must be flexible to working hours and support to maintaing poultry welfare. Skills and Experience: Experience in driving tractors and telehandlers is preferable. A hard working, enthusiastic and a positive 'can do' attitude is essential. A valid UK Driving licence is required, as is transport to get to work. Poultry experience is not essential but it would be adventageous. T&Cs Salary - Depending on suitability and experience.
