Conservation Advisor — NWG (Northumbrian Water Group)
Location: Sandon Valley House, Hanningfield, Essex / Hybrid working. Full time 36 hours per week with flexible arrangements including part-time considered. Salary £29,440-£36,800 depending on experience. Permanent position.
Responsibilities
* Work with the Conservation team to manage habitats on NWG land, implementing conservation plans and engaging with stakeholders to contribute to biodiversity goals.
* Support the management of invasive non-native species and implement biosecurity measures.
* Provide conservation guidance within agreed timescales, supported by a Conservation Specialist where required to ensure accurate recommendations.
* Maintain and validate conservation data in the Geographical Information System (GIS) and support site surveys across NWG landholdings.
* Work outdoors in all weathers; may require working alone.
About You / Qualifications
* Demonstrable experience of conservation practices, including managing a range of habitats, with technical knowledge of conservation and biodiversity, including relevant legislation and policies.
* Excellent communication skills for clear engagement with stakeholders; awareness of licensing processes for protected species.
* Willingness to develop knowledge of NWG’s environmental obligations to ensure compliance.
* Full UK driving licence is essential.
