An independent day and boarding preparatory school for boys aged 6–13 in Ascot, catering for approximately 300 students and staff daily. The role involves providing meals including breakfast, snacks, lunch, supper, and match teas, with additional hospitality events throughout the year. The position is term-time only, operating Monday to Sunday with a 5-day working pattern. Free on-site parking is available.
We have an exciting opportunity for a General Assistant to join our team in Ascot.
Previous experience in a fast-paced catering environment is preferred.
You will enjoy working with a great team and be passionate about food and customer service.
Key responsibilities:
* Supporting the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, and cleaning.
* Preparing service areas for meal services.
* Setting up, serving, clearing, cleaning, and storing food, beverages, or equipment for special functions.
* Preparing basic food items following hygiene and safety standards.
* Replenishing stocks and consumables during service to ensure excellent customer service.
* Managing waste and recycling appropriately.
* Occasional evening and weekend work for events.
* Adhering to food standards, controlling wastage, and following health and safety policies.
Skills required:
* Teamwork, good listening skills, initiative, personal presentation, hygiene, and behavior.
* Food hygiene certification is preferred.
* Flexibility, reliability, honesty, and customer-focused attitude.
* Willingness to learn and take responsibility.
* Ability to lift, carry, and push moderately heavy items.
* Good verbal and written English skills.
* Experience in customer service or food preparation is advantageous.
