I am looking for a dedicated and proactive Wellbeing Physiologist to join an Occupational Health team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, based in Warton, Preston. You will be:
* Travelling nationwide to deliver health screening assessments.
* Delivering health promotion and roadshows at client sites.
* Providing evidence-based advice tailored to the patient’s health profile (adiposity, biochemistry, blood screening) and stage of behaviour change.
* Formulating and implementing written action plans based on treatment prescription, which is modified for the applicable stage of change.
* Setting positive and realistic goals, coaching the patient to realise their potential.
* Supporting patients living with lifestyle induced disease to make positive and sustainable lifestyle choices for enhanced chronic disease management.
* Giving assistance and reassurance to clients during their medical tests.
* Using specialised equipment to perform clinical tests.
* Recording and analysing clinical data.
* Maintaining and calibrating equipment in line with HP Policy, reporting faults etc.
* Interpreting clinical data and assess patients’ clinical risk and making informed decisions whether to escalate to GP or OH practitioners for further investigation and management.
You will be a motivated and qualified individual who holds a degree (or equivalent) in Sports Science, Health Science, Exercise Physiology, Sports Therapy, or a related field. You will ideally have prior experience in a sport, medical, health, wellbeing, or fitness environment, with knowledge in areas such as human physiology, exercise, biochemistry, anatomy/biomechanics, psychology, or nutrition. A strong understanding of workplace wellness, wellbeing strategies, and interventions is essential, along with experience in delivering health assessments or familiarity with clinical measures. You should demonstrate a clear understanding of professional accountability within your scope of practice and possess excellent communication skills with a proactive and positive approach. Above all, you should be passionate about improving individuals’ health and wellbeing.
Please note that to be considered for this role, you must own a vehicle and hold a valid UK driving licence, as nationwide travel is required.
This role is based in Warton, Preston. However, there will be frequent UK wide travel. You will always have prior notice of the locations you will be attending and expenses for travel will be included in the role including fuel and overnight stays.
The salary for this role is £28,000K to £32,000K depending on qualifications and experience.
This is a full time role, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Flexibility may be required. It is a 12 month fixed term contract.
