Hays are working exclusively with a Public Sector organisation who are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team based in Shrewsbury,
Your new role
You will be supporting with the processing of financial information, payroll preparation and rmending process improvement. Duties will include:
Payroll processing prior to sending it to the Payroll Bureau, which includes:
1. Collating hours and processing time sheets
2. Resolving payroll queries
3. Inputting starters and leavers
4. Reporting hours and updating spreadsheets
5. Liaising with Payroll bureau
Accounts Assistant duties
6. Assisting with Purchase ledger processing
7. Assisting with cash management
8. Prepare and post month-end journals.
9. Analyse variances.
What you'll need to succeed
10. Relevant experience in accountancy and finance
11. Knowledge of payroll an advantage but not essential
12. Organised, self-motivated, and able to prioritise workload.
13. Strong Excel skills: accounting software knowledge is a plus.
14. AAT qualification is desirable but not essential.
15. Attention to detail and accuracy.
16. Effective written and verbalmunication skills.
17. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
