Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life, and our campaigns fight for a world where everyone gets to have the best possible quality of life while living with an illness, they’re likely to die from.
The care and support we provide is highly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present we are only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life. Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do not get the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

Are you passionate about delivering compassionate, person-centred care at the end of life? Marie Curie is looking for a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our community team in Dumfries and Galloway.
You’ll be a vital part of our multidisciplinary team, providing holistic support to patients and those important to them. This role is based in the community, where you’ll support clients and their families in the comfort of their own homes—ensuring dignity, comfort, and continuity of care during one of life’s most important journeys.

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC) £24,647 - £26,763 pro rata per annum + enhancements
Contract: Permanent Part Time 27 hours per week Night Shifts 10pm to 7am and can include some occasional day shifts when required
Based: Community Based across Gretna, Annan and Dumfriesshire and Galloway

What we’re looking for:
15. Minimum of 6 months’ experience delivering care in a health or social care setting
16. Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
17. NVQ Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards this qualification
18. A nurturing and compassionate approach, with excellent communication skills
19. The ability to work independently while being an integral part of a multidisciplinary team
