Highly Specialist Clinical/Counselling Psychologist – Young People (16-25)

A unique opportunity has arisen to make a significant impact on the lives of young people in Hull, providing formulation driven psychological interventions for concurrent substance use and mental health difficulties. The role will include offering specialist psychological assessment, formulation and integrative psychological interventions as well as playing a pivotal role in shaping and developing this exciting new role moving forward.
In this role, you will provide individual and group psychological interventions, utilising evidence-based approaches tailored to the needs of 16-25 year olds which address both problem substance use and concurrent mental health difficulties.
Responsibilities
You will be joining a team of compassionate and motivated mental health professionals, including consultant and principal clinical/counselling psychologists, assistant psychologists, trainee psychologists on placement and dual diagnosis speciality mental health nurses. You will also be part of our national Psychology Directorate for reflective practice, peer support, research, and CPD opportunities. Under the supervision of a senior HCPC registered Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, the post holder will ensure that people who access our services receive high quality care that adheres to best practice guidelines, and you will be supported to develop and thrive within the role.
Our model is integrative and adopts trauma informed care approaches, emphasising physical, psychological, and emotional safety to help people to rebuild a sense of empowerment in their lives and in their communities. Within ReNew the post holder will work as part of a team to ensure that psychological perspectives are central to everyone’s thinking. They will support the empowerment of teams and individuals to increase knowledge, skills, and professional confidence around the needs of the people who access our services. Through consultancy, reflective practice, team formulation, training and clinical case management, the post holder will help the wider team create an innovative and effective trauma-informed service.
We welcome applications from candidates with additional qualifications in specialist trauma focused treatments (i.e. EMDR) and clinical experience of working with young people (16-25) with or without the presence of substance use disorders.

Salary: £51,449.61 - £58,040.19 (pro rata) CGL pay scale: 47 to 53
