The Pool Skool Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and Level 2 Qualified Lead Swim Teacher to join our team at the newest Swim school in Shefford, Bedfordshire. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to step up and take on more responsibility in the swim school industry.
Available Teaching Shifts:
Mondays 4:15 - 7:15
Thursdays 4:15 - 7:15
Progression Opportunity:
We are currently looking for someone who can commit to the shifts listed above. For the right candidate who proves themselves to be reliable, consistent, and a great fit for the team, there will be opportunities to take on additional shifts, increased responsibility, and progression into a more senior role within the swim school.
Typical Teaching Duties:
- Plan and deliver 30 minute swim lessons to individuals or groups (3 children per class) of all ages and abilities.
- Instruct students on correct swimming techniques, water safety, and stroke development.
- Create fun & engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of each swimmer.
- Provide constructive feedback to swimmers to help them improve their skills.
- Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment in the pool area.
- Monitor swimmers' progress and adjust teaching methods as needed.
Senior Responsibilities:
* Dealing with customer enquiries (walk ins + emails)
* Ensuring customers are greeted and welcomed as they come in for lessons - always helps to have a familiar face around
* Sales outreach; posting leaflets to relevant areas; pre schools, play groups, schools etc
* Offering additional support to teachers if needed (providing lesson plans, sitting in on lessons, in the water helping where necessary)
* Monthly meetings with Director & Assistant Manager
* Making sure everything is maintained for lessons to run smoothly (filling up blue shoe covers, clean and tidy throughout changing village and poolside, pool hoover in when pool not in use (basic cleaning duties)
Qualifications:
- Qualified Level 2 Swim Instructor with recognised certifications such as Swim England or STA.
- Previous experience in sports coaching or swim coaching is desirable.
* NRASTC / NPLQ Lifeguard Qualification desirable
* DBS Certificate
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with individuals of all ages.
* Knowledge of water safety practices and swimming stroke techniques.
* Passion for teaching and promoting a love for swimming among students.
