Job Title: Van Driver
Accountable To: Transport Supervisor
Responsibilities: To deliver quality service to our customers on time and in full
We are looking to recruit one/two people to join our team of dedicated delivery drivers. The team are valued members of the Utopia family who deliver to both high street retailers and distribution hubs as well as construction sites.
Our drivers are very much ambassadors for the company so you should have a polite and helpful persona and will go the extra mile to assist our customers.
Delivery
1. Deliver furniture to designated customers who are predominately retail outlets, and construction sites, scanning the items from the vehicle, via a handheld scanner – handball system.
2. Report all damages/shortages etc, as soon as possible at the point of delivery to the transport office.
3. Collections of returns from customers, which are prebooked and bought back to head office.
4. Liaise with Transport office at all times should any queries arise.
5. Assist with duties in loading when there is no driving scheduled.
Paperwork
1. All paperwork should be returned to the Transport office in a clean and tidy condition.
2. Any information recorded on paperwork must be legible.
3. All paperwork must be signed and dated.
Conduct
1. Corporate uniform must be worn at all times.
2. Consideration and courtesy must be shown at all times, when out on company business.
3. Your vehicle must be kept clean and tidy, and you must ensure that you work within the parameters of legislation and company policies. All paperwork to be handed in on time and in full.
4. Excellent customer service experience
5. You will have full knowledge of the road network covering the UK
6. You will have full understanding of the working/driving regulations.
7. You will be a well organised individual who has excellent time management skills.

Ideally you will have held a clean driving licence for a minimum period of 5 years, with van driving experience for at least 2 years.
Ideally you will have worked within a manufacturing environment which gives you the understanding of the complexities involved.
Hours of work: - average 48 hours per week, in line with the working time directive
