The role
You’ll work on the assessment and reporting of existing structures, with responsibilities including:
* Structural condition surveys and inspections
* Intrusive investigations and opening-up works
* Defect diagnosis and causation analysis
* Structural input to FRAEW, PAS 9980 and Safety Case submissions
* Remediation feasibility studies and options appraisals
* Technical reports to support funding, regulatory approval and construction delivery
This is an advisory and investigation-led position. While there may be some refurbishment and strengthening input, this is not a primary new-build structural frame design role.
What we’re looking for
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Chartered IStructE / ICE, or working towards Chartership (This is essential)
* Around 5+ years’ experience in structural engineering
* Strong background in existing buildings, refurbishment, remediation, inspections, investigations, defect diagnosis, and technical reporting
* Experience supporting building safety work such as FRAEW, PAS 9980 or Safety Case submissions
* Knowledge of UK Building Regulations, Eurocodes, CDM and the Building Safety Act
* Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team and acting as a trusted technical advisor to clients
