Overview
A rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Dietetic Team Lead to join the Nutrition and Dietetic Service in University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. We are starting a programme of transformational change in this service, so it is an exciting time to join us as an agent of change, leading and improving quality of care for our patients, ensuring effective use of our resources and supporting staff wellbeing.
Responsibilities
• Apply clinical evidence-based knowledge of dietetics alongside a passion and commitment to leadership and management, service development and facilitation of learning and practitioner wellbeing.
• Lead, support and develop the dietetics team to deliver patient-centred care in a responsive, needs-based way.
• Implement innovative solutions within an evolving dietetics landscape and contribute to regional networks in the Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB.
• Act as a proactive problem solver and change agent to advance professional practice and service improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
• Motivated, flexible and forward-thinking band 6 Dietitian who is ready to advance their professional and clinical development in a more senior role, or a current band 7 Dietitian wanting to further consolidate leadership skills.
• Compassionate communication skills with effective interpersonal abilities.
• Commitment to leadership, management, service development and staff wellbeing.
• Willingness to travel to other sites and clinic locations as part of the role.

Location and travel
The role is based at Royal Lancaster Infirmary and supports colleagues based at Queen Victoria Centre, Morecambe, and will require travel to other sites and clinic locations. Our main hospital sites include Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, plus community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
