An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Estimator to join a growing civil engineering and infrastructure contractor with an ambitious growth strategy and a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming work.Based in the North West, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in securing major projects across the region. Working closely with senior stakeholders and operational teams, you will lead the production of high-quality tender submissions and help shape the future growth of the business.The RoleAs a Senior Estimator, you will take ownership of the tendering process from initial enquiry through to submission, ensuring competitive, commercially sound, and technically robust bids are delivered on time and to the highest standard.You will work closely with operational teams, supply chain partners, and senior stakeholders to develop winning strategies and identify opportunities to strengthen future submissions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the preparation and delivery of competitive tender submissionsManage the estimating process across your allocated portfolio of opportunitiesDevelop tender strategies aligned with business objectives and growth plansAnalyse project documentation, specifications, and contract requirementsBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliersDrive continuous improvement and innovation throughout the tendering processReview project risks and opportunities to ensure commercially robust submissionsCollaborate with operational and commercial teams during bid preparationSupport and mentor junior members of the estimating teamContribute to bid presentations and client meetings where requiredAssist in developing best practice across the estimating functionAbout YouWe are looking for a commercially aware and technically capable estimator who can lead from the front and thrive in a fast-paced bidding environment.Essential Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience in a Senior Estimator or Estimator role within civil engineering, infrastructure, rail, or constructionStrong understanding of tendering and pre-construction processesAbility to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlinesExcellent analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detailStrong communication and stakeholder management abilitiesExperience building relationships with supply chain partners and clientsProficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPointAbility to think strategically and contribute to business growth initiativesStrong leadership and mentoring capabilitiesDesirableHNC/HND or degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related disciplinePrevious experience within civil engineering, rail, infrastructure, or utilities sectorsExperience presenting to clients, senior stakeholders, and leadership teamsIf you're an experienced Estimator looking to take the next step in your career with a forward-thinking contractor delivering major infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today for a confidential discussion.Aldwych Consulting values diversity and promotes equality.
